About the Sweet Pea

The Sweet Pea is a plant native to the Mediterranean region.

They are annual climbers, come in a wide spectrum of colours,

and grow for a long period of time.

Not all Sweet Pea flower varieties are fragrant, but the ones that are,

live up to their name sake.

Growing Sweet Peas

Choose a site in full sun with rich, well-drained soil.

Soak seeds overnight then plant about an inch deep and 3-4 inches apart.

Water well after planting, then restrict water until seeds germinate.

Fertilize every 2 to 4 weeks, or use a slow-release fertilizer. 

Sweet Peas are heavy feeders.

The Sweet Pea plan benefits from deadheading, but leave a few flowers at the

end of the season to seed for next year.
